This guide is intended for people who would like to spend some quiet time in the Cathedral and use the artwork to help them pray. Authored by Msgr. James Murphy, the booklet begins with the early history of Catholicism in Sacramento and guides the pilgrim around the building interior, offering a brief commentary on the art and architectural features. Among the things featured are:

  • Octagonal Baptismal font
  • Murals in the side chapels (one inspired by Giotto and the other by Perugino)
  • Blessed Sacrament Chapel
  • Sanctuary lamp
  • Stained glass windows
  • Roundels in the dome

The 16 roundels in the dome are given particular attention in the booklet. All 16 are reproduced in print in a special section, with the relevant Scripture quotation under each one.
